Chucks Defeat Bison In Nine Innings
In an early season D-9 showdown, Punxsutawney handed the Bison their first loss, breaking a 4-4 tie by scoring 3 runs in the top of the 9th. Thomas Summers suffered the tough loss in relief of starter Brandon Orsich, who had gone 6 innings. The Bison offense pounded out 11 hits against three Punxsy hurlers. Summers had 3 of those hits with Josh Sorbera, Tommy Hazel, and Spencer Herrington adding two each.
The Bison take a 3-1 record into the Altoona Curve Classic Tournament on April 10-12. They open the tournament with a 3:00 contest against the Central Scarlet Dragons at People Natural Gas Park on Friday. The April 7th game at Bald Eagle Area was rained out and re-scheduled for April 15th at Wingate.
