Bison Ground Eagles For Third Win
Riding the strong left arm of Thomas Summers, the Bison Nine defeated the Tyrone Golden Eagles 6-1 to remain undefeated at 3-0. The scheduled home opener had to be switched to Tyrone due to poor field conditions at the Bison Sports Complex.
Summers pitched well for 6 innings and was relieved by Brandon Orsich, who pitched a perfect inning. Summers has not given up an earned run yet in 13 innings of work.
Clearfield’s offense only produced a total of 5 hits, but that proved to be enough as Josh Sorbera clubbed two hits and Noah Cline came through with a 2 run single in the second inning. Summers and third baseman Cole Kephart added doubles to the cause.
The Bison defense came up big on the day, using three infield double plays and two key pick-offs by Summers.
Clearfield’s real home opener is scheduled for Monday, April 6th against Punxsutawney, weather permitting.
