Bison Baseball 2-0 With Win Over Huntingdon
The Bison Baseball squad used a complete game effort by junior righty Brandon Orsich to defeat Bearcats 6-4 on a bitter cold day in Huntingdon. Orsich surrendered 7 hits but walked only one batter in his first appearance of the year. Losing 4-1 in the seventh inning, the Red and Black responded with a 5 run rally, the big blow being delivered by first baseman Thomas Summers. After Jonathan Trimpey reached on an error and Josh Sorbera drilled a single to right, Summers blasted a bomb deep over the left field fence. After a pitching change, the Bison tacked on two more runs to complete the comeback. Orsich pitched out of a two on, no out situation in the bottom of the 7th to seal the win. Josh Sorbera and Tommy Hazel had two hits each, while Noah Cline drove in the first Bison run with a single in the 2nd inning.
Clearfield’s next outing is set for Tuesday, March 31st at Bellefonte.
