Fall Ball Season Ends With Annual World Series

The 2012 Fall season closed out on Oct 21st with Team Josephson defeating Team Flood to clinch the annual World Series. The 5-4 score was typical of the series, as every game was close. The two teams were pretty evenly matched an both played solid defense throughout the series (5 double plays were turned in game five).

The World Series provided a fitting end to what was an outstanding Fall season. The 14 man roster began practice back on August 28th in preparation for a 16 game schedule. With two games canceled due to rain, the final record ended at 9-3-2, with three of the wins coming as a result of last inning rallies. The team consisted of players in grades 9-12 (2 seniors, 6 juniors, 5 sophs, 1 freshman)

13 – 14 Year Old Fall Ball Team

The 13-14 year old team consisted of 14 players in grades 7 and 8. They began practice on August 29th in preparation for a 12 game schedule. With two games canceled due to rain, the team ended up with a 4-6 record. Many of the players were just coming out of Little League, so this was their first opportunity to compete on a big field. The Fall Ball experience should prove to be very valuable to them as they start their Babe Ruth careers next Spring.
