Bisons top bearcats with amazing comeback
Down by 13-2 going into the bottom of the fifth inning at the Bisons Sports complex, the Red and Black men were hoping to just squeak out a couple of runs in order to avoid a mercy rule loss to the Huntingdon Bearcats. In another of their patented comebacks, they pushed across 8 runs in the 5th and 8 more in the sixth, then hung on to record an improbable 18-14 victory.
It was one of those games where every player on the roster was able to contribute something to the win. Sophomore Wyatt Westen pitched 4 2/3 innings in relief to earn the win on the mound. Tanner Ogden was 4 for 5, including a homerun, and Coleman Kubala was 3 for 5. Kyler Kephart contributed 3 rbis on a key 3 run double in the fifth. Freshman Tommy Summers had two hits with two runs scored, while Cole Kephart and Jon Janocko also scored twice.
It was an exciting win for the young Bison team, who will next host the Central Dragons on Monday in a 4:30 PM start.
