April 29th – Bisons Pull Out a 14-13 Thriller in Bradford
Clearfield 14, Bradford 13
Scoring the go ahead run in the top of the Seventh and coming up with two defensive plays in the bottom, the Bisons hung on to defeat the Owls at the Pitt-Bradford Campus Field. For the second game in a row, relief ace Parker Herrington came in to shut the door and enable the Bisons to win. Big hitters for the visitors were Matt Lonjin and Herrington with 3 hits each. Tanner St. Clair had 3 RBIs on 2 hits, while Corey Bookhamer slugged a 3 run homer. After Bradford tied up the game in the bottom of the 6th, the Bisons 3rd baseman Derek Danver led off the Seventh with a double, was sacrificed to 3rd by Kyle Timchak, and scored when Lonjin looped a single into left field. The Owls loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the inning. With the infield in, Bookhamer made a barehanded grab of a short ground ball and nailed the runner at home. With the bases still loaded, Owl hitter Kyle Yurkewicz worked Herrington to a full count. A perfectly executed pitcher to first base pick off ended the game and started the celebration for the Bisons, who have now won three in a row.
