May 29th – Brockway
The Clearfield Bisons’ season came to an end yesterday in the District Nine Finals played at Brockway High School. The Punxsutawney Chucks prevailed in a hard fought 5-2 contest and they will continue down the play off trail as they host the WPIAL’s number two team on Monday. Bison ace Trey Wallace suffered the loss but deserved a better fate. Punxsy lefty Nick Gillung surrendered 6 hits, but kept the Bison bats at bay as he scattered 10 strikeouts, many in key situations. Craig Butler had both rbi’s for Clearfield, while Adam Jury had two hits. The Bisons end their season with an 11-9-1 record, a vast improvement over last year. Six seniors played their last game for the Red and Black: Craig Butler, Max Condon, Shane Davis, Kurt Miller, Beau Ryan, and Trey Wallace. They are a tremendous group of leaders. Their dedication and hard work will surely be missed.
